Reflection: Play
The element of “play” is often considered to be unproductive and gets sidelined in our lives. From 6 to 7 July, some Evangelites rediscovered the importance of play by intentionally joining a 2-day journey of Reflection for a refreshing and fun time of meaningful discussion on God’s Word, fasting, prayer, stories, painting and other creative activities. Here are snippets from different ones on the lessons they had gleaned from their 2-day journey. Also check out the inspiring stories behind the individual painting in their respective embedded videos:

It’s my first time attending Reflection and I am really glad that I did come. It was a refreshing experience. I learnt a lot through the sharing of other people’s stories and it feels so awesome and wonderful to know that God has done so much work in all of our lives. Through the sharing of our experiences, I feel closer and bonded to each other. In addition, I actually got to know more about my close friends when I thought I already knew them quite well. God’s Word applies to every single person from all walks of life in different ways. I really thank God for these 2 days.

My first time at Reflections proved to be both meaningful and beneficial. It was encouraging as well to hear from different ones and their heart-felt stories. I have learnt a lot and the journey definitely continues!

Treasury Executive
This Reflection is a good time for us to learn from one another and through each other’s life. We find common situations we go through and thus able to encourage one another. This also allows me to spend quality time, undistracted to read and study the few chapters of Psalms.

“Play” was indeed a very good theme for Reflection. I did not realised that our daily routines can be linked to play. I have learnt from Psalms that God wants us to enjoy ourselves in whatever we do and in difficult times to trust and put our hope in Him. Overall, it is a very good experience and I totally enjoyed the Reflection.

This is my first Reflection and it was really enjoyable. I realised that play doesn’t means play. It includes a lot of other things such as dreams for ourselves and finding ways to take time to care for ourselves. Had a fun time painting and being able to express anything about ourselves. Painting isn’t that difficult in a group.

Program Manager
PLAY begets creativity and we can integrate PLAY into our daily busy lifestyle.

SCP Manager
These 2 days benefitted me a lot. I learnt to find rest in our busy schedules and work.

Sales Executive
This Reflection is refreshing and encouraging hearing different ones sharing their life story and things they face or got through. It encourages me to spend time for myself and with God, family and friends than always working my life away. Take time to play and rest, don’t over work!

Thank God that we can take time-off from our hectic and routine life and focus on God’s Word as a group and relearning life from one another. I will definitely join again, this is my fourth! Thank you Suet Ferng and Pastors for organising! God is always faithful… so play on!
