Day 7: Sunday, 30 November 2014

by Alan Yeo

"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine…" (Ephesians 3:20)

It was just over a year ago when the group of peacemakers were here at Evangel Forever Home to dedicate our beautifully furnished house, all ready to receive and welcome our children!

Today, the house is a home filled with laughter and cries of the little ones, as we gathered on a beautiful Sunday to worship as a family. It didn't matter that we were from different continents and nations; a single thread has woven us together as one. God's love has intertwined the hearts of peacemakers with "acres of love."

It was truly heart-warming to have our little ones in our midst together with their house parents worshipping together with the peacemakers and staff from Acres of Love. Gerda Augdanotti, Founder of Acres of Love, welcomed the family with a introductory reading from Psalms, followed by an uplifting worship song by one of the house assistants, sung beautifully in the African language. Together, we partook the blessed sacrament of communion followed by God's Word unpacked by Dale, the Lead Pastor of Evangel Family Church. We were reminded through Dale's message that all of us were all "adopted" by our Heavenly Father to be his children through Jesus Christ. Our worship service concluded with the most anticipated and celebratory event that morning – the dedication of our children at Evangel Forever Home.

This beautiful moment with the house parents standing in front with the babies was forever etched in our hearts and minds. We are thankful that these children who were once abandoned are no longer orphans but have found a family and a home with us.
