Happy Thanksgiving!

Day 4: Thursday, 27 November 2014

By Adeline Ong

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?

The Peacemakers on the Road are thankful for the opportunity to be on this road trip experiencing and seeing God working in this part of the continent, and witnessing God's redemptive story in the lives of many in South Africa.

We did not have much activity as we depart for Cape Town today. Though we are sad to leave the warmth and friendliness of the people in Johannesburg, we are on the other hand excited because we will be meeting our kids in Evangel Forever Home. Upon arrival, we headed down to the mall to purchase Christmas ornaments. The peacemakers were tasked to decorate the 3 Forever Homes for Christmas in Cape Town on Saturday. All of us were really excited in choosing the ornaments for the Christmas trees. We decided to have different themes for the three homes. So check out our Christmas tree decoration on Saturday's blog!

Back in the hotel, we had a great time wrapping the gifts we bought for our babies and kids in Evangel Forever Home and putting together the Christmas décor for the homes before going for our welcome dinner hosted by Acres of Love.

It was a lovely evening having dinner with our hosts, Gerda and Courtney. We were reminded that our hosts would be missing their thanksgiving dinner with their family in the United States. As we gathered around the table with a heart of gratitude, we are thankful that somehow God has brought us together from different parts of the world to be one family united for His cause being "A father to the fatherless… " (Psalms 68:5) May this thanksgiving brings you an attitude of gratitude! Happy Thanksgiving!
