Divine

In 2010, I endeavour to be:
Divine
No human can be divine of course... but God has called us to
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 5:48
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self,
which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22 to 24
This goal can only be reached through partnership.
We will never be able to grow in His divine nature without God. God gave us His promise of salvation and the inheritance of sonship... He gave us His Son to redeem us from eternal death... and He gives us His Spirit to enable us.
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness
through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises,
so that through them you may participate in the divine nature
and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
I Peter 1:3 to 4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One he loves. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 1:1 to 13
With God’s enabling and empowerment, it is now up to us if we would do anything from our end. It takes total commitment and surrender.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence,
but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
Philippians 2:12 to 13
May this be our goal for 2010 and beyond... One day, we will be 100% transformed into His likeness!
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what
we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears,
we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
I John 3:2
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there,
the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control,
will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.
Philippians 3:20 to 21
