Date: 27 March 2010
Time: 8.30pm to 9.30pm
“Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour.
In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights.
Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House
and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness. In 2009, hundreds of millions of people around the world
showed their support by turning the lights for one hour. Earth Hour 2010 will continue to be a global call to action
to every individual, every business and every community.
A call to stand up, to show leadership and be responsible for our future.”
Evangel Family Church is a supporter of Earth Hour and together with the entire globe;
we will be switching off lights for one hour at 8.30pm on Saturday March 27
to send a powerful global message that we care enough about climate change to take action.
